Even More Great Reviews!

The emulations of these amps are extremely accurate and without the influence of presets, effects or even something as simple as a tuner, the amp tones remain faithful to the original amps that we know and love.

Kris Petersen, Guitarist Magazine, Feb/Mar issue 2010

While we have been focusing on the Trident release (we're just four guys, can't do everything at the same time), reviewers around the globe have been busy reviewing our other products.

First up are two German magazines, Bassquarterly and Professional Audio Musik & Equipment (Click to the link to read the review!). Bassquarterly raves about how intuitive Bass Amp Room is and that it has everything you need for your bass sounds without having to possess a degree in applied computer science. We agree.

Professional Audio Musik & Equipment has one of the most thorough reviews we've ever seen. Seven (!) pages of comparing the Tube-Tech CL 1B hardware with our software. Amazing!

They call the plug-in "an authentic emulation of the Lydkraft hardware", "Spitzenklasse, sehr gut.".

Finally, we just got a brilliant three page review of Amp Room Bundle in Guitarist Australia where reviewer Kris Petersen sums it up by giving it 5/5 on all accounts (except features) and saying "What a fantastic set of plug-ins!"

Trident A-Range Equalizer Released

The Trident A-Range is a legendary piece of equipment. As only thirteen A-Range consoles were ever made, it remains a holy grail for sound engineers and producers around the world that hope to create equal works of art to those that were originally recorded on the A-Range — David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, Queen, Elton John, the list goes on...

The A-Range plug-in from Softube is the first and only native (VST/AU/RTAS) and TDM plug-in that has been fully endorsed by original designer Malcolm Toft and Trident Audio.

A fully functional 20-day demo can be downloaded from http://www.softube.com.

Marshall's analog excellence is combined with Softube's patented simulation technology to make rock 'n' roll's most comprehensive and sophisticated amplifier, while still staying true to the Marshall tone and heritage.

For the JMD:1, Softube has contributed hardware for the pre-amp and signal processing parts, as well as the software. This marks a new beginning for us, as it is the first product where Softube has contributed to the hardware design.

Reviews, Reviews, Raving Reviews!!! (En Masse!)

We have recently had tons of raving reviews sent to us! We try to update the reviews section on our web site, but sometimes it's just too much work... Here are a couple of excerpts from the last month:

Paul White, (the man, the myth, the legend), from Sound On Sound speaks about Spring Reverb and Tube Delay:

—Spring Reverb is by far the most authentic-sounding spring emulation I've heard so far.
—Even when you set the feedback control right on the edge of building up into feedback, the background mush created by the recirculating delays sounds exactly right.

Barry Rudolph of MIX Magazine fame raves about the CL 1B:

—It's a big winner for me and is a major player in all my mixes from now on!

...and then we have Niklas Silén from Pro Rec who did a raving review of the FET Compressor:

—I can not imagine myself working without it, even though we have the hardware equivalent in the studio.
—It is a very versatile and creative tool that cannot be mimicked nor matched by any other plug-in as far as I know.
—Awesome sound quality.

Finally, there's been lots of German reviews lately. Audiowerk, our German distributor, says they're fantastic. But we don't speak German (kein Deutsch, por favor) so we just have to trust them on that. But check out the raving Passive-Active Pack review in the latest issue of Keys Magazine (2009/12)!

Raving Reviews on Passive-Active Pack and FET Compressor

Sound and Recording have just published a raving review on the Passive-Active Pack and the FET Compressor:

"I may go out on a limb here, but I claim that the Swedish define the standard of what is possible in today's native DAWs regarding 'Analog-Processing' with these processors. Although I feel a bit sheepish by pushing Softube this hard: but you only have yourself to blame if you don't grab it."

Hannes Bieger, Sound and Recording, 9/2009
